Untertitel der Edition: The Biblio-Graphic Drawing-Edition.
CUT is Werkgruppe /01 in Volumen II of the Hoier.works Network — the work with which Volumen II opens. Edition subtitle: The Biblio-Graphic Drawing-Edition. Between 2020 and 2025, drawings on paper were made across various sketchbooks, executed with Carandage Pen: terse, rapidly set line drawings — heads, figures, scenes, often with biting wit. The sheets are one-of-a-kind originals in varying formats; the Framed Edition is their mode of presentation, in which each sheet is shown individually framed. The digital catalogue comprises 34 framed sheets. Published by SLEEPING DOGS UNLIMITED ART PLATEAUS, curatorial direction by Erika Margrit Fröhli.

Texts in the Work — Graffiti
Ten passages of text are part of the edition itself: handwritten entries in nine of the framed sheets plus a dedicated quotation sheet. The edition credits its literary quotes as graffiti. The inscriptions repeatedly name figures of European art and intellectual history — Vasari, Dostoevsky, Beauvoir and Sartre, Kleist — placing the terse line drawings in their horizon.

Curatorial Note
This publication is to be understood as an integral part of a comprehensive body of work and refers to a larger artistic context. The individual Werkgruppen focus on a coherent artistic theme without abandoning the claim of representing the complete œuvre in its multilayered nature. The totality of the sub-areas fits into a context of expressive forms that continuously, and from varying perspectives and approaches, reflects on the problematics of how fundamental phenomena of artistic consciousness can be represented. The aim is to develop, within this open process, views that are less conclusive than rather investigative, processual, and open-ended.
